Artist Profile

I pursued my childhood passion for drawing back in August 1994. Attended classes at Macedon Ranges Further Education Centre, improving my skills in watercolour, mixed media, and drawing. Also learning about lead lighting, mosaics, sculpture, and silk printing techniques. Pastels and acrylics were also introduced into my works. I then shared these valuable fine art skills with others by tutoring for 15 years at the same centre. I have also tutored classes in pastels and conducted workshops and demonstrations at various art groups I have been involved with. Participated in local community projects - painting bollards at the Coburn Primary School, Melton and a mural at Goonawarra Aged Care Facility, Sunbury. In 2009 along with 2 other artists, our artworks were showcased at the Melbourne Airport Hilton. Then in 2011 and 2012 artworks entered at the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Art show were purchased by Moorabool Shire Council to be part of their art collection displays. I love being part of Sunbury Art Society, with 21 years of involvement, including a stint as President, it was an honour to be offered life membership recently. My passion is drawing and painting Australian natives, eucalypts, birds, and the occasional landscape. I am enjoying my journey in the arts and learning new techniques from other like-minded artists is also extremely satisfying and rewarding.
